Omitted Docu-style short film 〰️ Screening 〰️ 31 January 2026 〰️
Omitted Screenings is a docu-style short film by The Black Curriculum. It highlights the absence of Black British history in UK classrooms and the legacy of colonialism across the national curriculum. You see what it means to grow up without your history reflected in your education. The film calls for a system that includes and represents every young person.
The film features Lavinya Stennett (Founder & CEO, The Black Curriculum), John Dower (Film Director), Augustine John (Equality and Human Rights Campaigner) and other voices.
After the screening, you join a focused discussion about what education should look like and how it falls short today. Your voice is part of that conversation.
The Black Curriculum works to shift the Eurocentric focus of local and national curriculums. Its programmes support young people aged 3–25 to build identity, confidence and context, with a mission to embed Black British history across the English national curriculum.
