Conversations With Young People has concluded
We have successfully concluded our ‘Conversations with Young People’ series, held throughout October’s Black History Month.
Recent historical events and its inevitable reflections on colonialism once again highlighted the need for a wider debate on the topic.
Our aim with the series was to explore young people’s understanding and perspectives of colonialism.
We visited and had valuable participation from four diverse schools, which included one Independent, one Primary, one Secondary and a Special Education Needs school.
Approximately 60 young people were involved in the series, which generated a lot of discussions captured using visual notes. The young people’s enthusiasm, curiosity and active engagement underscored the need to understand and know more about Black British History.
We thank all of the schools and young people who participated.
If your school or organisation would like to be part of our future series, please email Elizabeth Kwaw, Head of Research at elizabeth@theblackcurriulum.com
