Springboard Programme: London Launch, July 2021

The National Springboard Programme is a series of free out of school workshops teaching young people aged 11-16 Black British history through the lens of music and creative arts.

Our next session will take place in Liverpool on Saturday 2nd October. Register now.

On July 24th 2021, we kicked off the first of our Springboard Programme sessions in London.

Attendees received a lesson on Britain's Black history, then delved deeper into the concept of globalisation and new sounds. After exploring a variety of music genres, attendees split off into groups to create expressive pieces of work based on music, identity and history.

The day afforded many the experience of learning in a University lecture hall, the opportunity to make new friends, and even the chance to meet celebrity artists, Jords and Ray BLK!
